I think everyone knows that cancer sucks. Whether we know someone, know of someone, heard a story, read a story or experienced first hand what cancer can do, the truth of the matter is that cancer sucks.
What can we do to help? What can people of SL possibly do to help either raise more awareness of this terrible disease or help with further research in finding a cure? Well, that’s where the American Cancer Society Relay For Life (RFL) comes in. Not only can you help in the real world but you can help in SL too.
Did you know The American Cancer Society has been active in Second Life for 15 years?
With the help of hundreds of volunteers and thousands who have donated, Second Life ACS has raised close to $3.6 million USD via Relay For Life, Strides Campaigns in October and annual events like Fantasy Faire, Home & Garden Expo, Christmas Expo, and Sci-Fi Expo.
Just a couple days ago, the American Cancer Society hosted the 5th Linden Home Reveal as part of the 2020 SL Home & Garden Expo.
